I'd get the vanilla. The Deluxe edition isn't worth 3 times the price, in my eyes.

What the hell - I just downloaded Fallout 3 Game of the Year Edition and it hasn't downloaded any of the DLC!

When right clicking on it in Steam I get no option to view the DLC, when in game it tells me DLC is available but none is installed, and when loading my old save, all the DLC quests and items have disappeared.

I'm dl'ing it now! And I'll let you know how it goes for me

Should DLC be popping up with your game? I bought Oblivion Game of the Year Edition Deluxe on the first day and none of the dlc has appeared in my games library, but oblivion has. I also purchased Fallout New Vegas (without expansions).

With Oblivion, you'll get a bunch of messages popping up after you exit the sewers at the beginning of the game. If you load a save where you're already past that bit, the messages should pop up shortly after you load the saved game.

But with all games on Steam, the DLC is downloaded, installed and uninstalled with the base game, so you won't see it as a separate game in your list. You should be able to right click on the game and go to "view downloadable content" to see which DLC is installed. That option, however, isn't there when I right click on Fallout 3 GOTY.

Oh alright. I might uninstall all the DLC at first in Oblivion if that's possible just to get the main game and then install each DLC one at a time or something just to play through them.

You should see the DLCs in this folder: \\Program Files (x86)\\Steam\\steamapps\\common\\oblivion\\Data

For example, I have the GOTY Deluxe version so I have these files in that folder:

DLCHorseArmor.esp
DLCMehrunesRazor.esp
Knights.esp
DLCShiveringIsles.esp
DLCVileLair.esp
DLCFrostcrag.esp
DLCBattlehornCastle.esp
DLCSpellTomes.esp
DLCThievesDen.esp
DLCOrrery.esp

For Fallout GOTY, make sure you have these in your Data folder:

Anchorage.esm
ThePitt.esm
BrokenSteel.esm
PointLookout.esm
Zeta.esm

You can't uninstall it, but you can disable it from the launcher by clicking on "data files". Not sure why you actually want to do that though - you can do what you like in Oblivion, no matter how much DLC you have installed. I played for hours and hours before I even started the main quest.

I managed to fix Fallout 3's DLC though - for some reason none of it was enabled by default, so I just turned it all on in the launcher. I had forgotten that you had to do that.

Oh yes make sure those data files are enabled in the launcher. A fresh install should already have that enable by default. However, if you added DLCs later, it may still be disabled.

DLC content doesn't come in the packs you get when installing a normal Steam purchase.

FarCry 2 comes with DLC, you just end up tripping over the stuff as you play. The DLC content in the game is weapons, ATV and a Mog which appears outside or at AI checkpoints. I believe that if the content is story related, you have to trip the storyline in your back and forth with NPC characters along the way.

...HOLY HELL!!GTA IV is taking forever to DL. I started the DL yesterday morning and it's STILL ~15% complete. LC Stories is already installed and I started it at the same time.
