Tropico reloaded and patrician 3 are WAY worth their price, the rest are pretty meh.

Kind of wish I hadn't just bought them on gamersgate last week now. Oh well, the gamersgate copies are much easier to install on old systems that won't be online.

its very well balanced and you dont feel cheated at all, if something goes wrong you know its your strategy that failed. giving commands/orders to units seems complicated at first but its actually very simple, although it does not mean it isnt a deep game, it is.

its singleplayer has around 50 missions, so there is quite some content there, but the main focus of the game is on multiplayer.

its a very fun game, very refreshing, its only downside is that graphics are quite poor, but honestly, for a game this good, it does not matter.

take a look at this video it will help you decide:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9jJrUY27O0Y
(skip to minute 5 for gameplay)

BTW: you get TWO copies with each purchase, one for you and one that can be gifted, so you could buy it with a friend and save up a bit more.

EDIT: Frozen Synapse now has a DEMO give it a try!!!
+1 on this, I wish everyone would pick this up. I'm buying it again actually to pass on 2 copies to either some friends or maybe OCN peeps.

I don't think the graphics are poor though. They are perfect for this style game IMO and its a refreshing change to all the super flashy games out today.

I have to agree with you on the graphics. They are stylized and abstracted but depending on the game that can add or detract from the primordial element, the gameplay.

I just played atom zombie smasher and that has 'rudimentary' graphics as well but the gameplay is well suited to the simple clean graphics. Very nice game if you like strategy/tower defense hybrids.

my problem with the graphics on FZ is that after some time i get sick and tired of the blue background and red/green dudes.

i wish levels generated with different colours (for example), etc... that would aliviate the fatigue of the same colors over and over again, although it is a very minor issue, the game itself is excellent and thats what all boils down to.
