Products in USA are generally cheaper. For example, the same BMW sold in the USA cost almost $10,000 less than in Germany where they are made.

While he's right about exchange rates making it easier for the U.S. to import stuff cheaply (hence our gigantic deficit), that's not what's going on with Steam.

Steam applies its own nonsensical exchange rate, which is $1 = 1 euro. Making it more expensive in purchasing power for Euro-zoners.

Well, sometimes you get games cheaper as well. For example, Mirrors Edge is currently £3.75, roughly €4 but is only €2.50 in Europe. Still, if it's really bad for a game get someone in the UK/US to buy it for you and you send them the money.

Mirror's Edge is an awesome game, well worth the money. I advise anyone who hasn't already played it to go and buy it now.

OT: Don't the publishers set the prices on Steam? It is not like Valve can set CoD prices low. That is Activision's decision.

Anyway, Mirror's Edge is a good game to pick up at $5. One thing bad about it was the combat mechanics were lacking. Everything else was good.

mirrors edge is great! its a terribly underrated/overlooked game. recommended 100%.

it has clunky combat, and an average story, but its gameplay and immersion are outstanding.

btw: the steam version is not compatible with the dlc (which is lots of fun), but the game is also at a discount on origin.

edit: steam users can try this mod that gives you access to the time trial maps
