Windows Home Server 2008 Remote Web Access on 2Wire modem?

Thread Starter
I have a 2Wire 2701HG-B for use with my crappy at&t DSL connection. When I set up the Remote Web Access on my Server machine, it always says that UPnP is not enabled. I will add pics. I pretty sure that my 2Wire Gateway doesn't support UPnP. But i did set up the correct ports that are for the Remote Web Access for my Server (I think). I was hoping you guys can help me find away around this!

Thanks!

all my research tells me this is a problem for a lot of people. try replacing the item with a stand alone adsl modem. and attach a normal router to it.

Also why are you running windows server 2008 in your home. an evaluation copy at that. it wont last long unless you plan on cracking it

You could look into DMZ for the servers IP.

I used to work for AT&T, and I can tell you that I strongly dislike the 2wire gateways... But they're still better than the old speedstreams.

I believe you could setup the 2wire as a dumb device modem, and then place a router with more capability in behind it (being sure to setup PPPoE on the new router).

I haven't done any real digging for you, but you could start here http://support.2wire.com/

You don't need to care about upnp if your router doesn't support it and you are manually configuring port forwarding.
