BSOD problem, help!

Thread Starter
So i was playing Heroes of Newerth as usual, when all the sudden my screen froze and at the same time the graphics messed up, i couldnt open the task manager or close the game, then a blue screen came, and i just manage to read somenthing about removing any recently installed hardware and at the bottom of the message somenthing loaded and when it reached 100 the computer restarted, i've been using the same graphic card for over a year and i handt had any problems like this so far, so after the BSOD appeared which was for no longer than 4 seconds, everytime i try to enter windows it keeps restarting with the same blue screen popping up, i can only acces my computer using safe mode, is my graphic card broken?, should i get a new one?, any thoughts?

Try to enter Windows in safe mode (hit f8 when booting) and access the event log

(control panel --> admin tools -> event viewer) and look at hte system logs. This may give you a little more info on the errors.. Sounds like it might be a driver issue

Alright, i think i got the problem, i took a nap for a bout 2 hours and when i came back my monitor woudnt respond so i had to force restart, then i got this message when i entered windows saying, windows has recovered from an unexpected shutdown which i found really strenage because i'm using integrated graphic cards, anyways if i click on details this is what i get;

Problem signature:
Problem Event Name:BlueScreen
OS Version:6.1.7100.2.0.0.256.1
Locale ID:1033

Additional information about the problem:
BCCode:116
BCP1:FFFFFA8005AD1010
BCP2:FFFFF88003A2B45C
BCP3:0000000000000000
BCP4:0000000000000002
OS Version:6_1_7100
Service Pack:0_0
Product:256_1

Files that help describe the problem:
C:\\Windows\\Minidump\\051611-14664-01.dmp
C:\\Users\\Eduardo\\AppData\\Local\\Temp\\WER-34367-0.sysdata.xml

Then at the system logs, there are a couple of logs that seem related to this, but i'm not really sure which one to post here, some say somenthing about bugcheck, unexpected shutdows, etc.. should i look on an specific sub area?, such as, application, security, setup, system, and fowarded events. Or/and am i looking for an specific level?(error, warning, critical), Thanks in advice!

Update your video drivers. If none are available, downgrade to the next most recent version. If the problem still occurs, replace your video card.

Are you able to maintain stability in safe mode?

First thing to try is in device manager, selefct the video adapter and selct driver button, then choose "rollback driver" and see how that does

Also, it would help alot if you filled out your system specs in the user control panel so we all know what you are working with!

Ok, this is really weird, my monitor doesnt recive image signal anymore when connected to the GPU, however the blue screen loop seems to be gone as i can hear all my software sounds, i tried with a different monitor but still no video, it only works when connected to the integrated graphic cards now. =/

@Phobos ok uptaded my specs, if theres anything more(or wrong) just let me know!

Starting to sound really strange now bro... did rolling back the drivers cause the card to stop working?

it is sounding more and more like the card just flat out died man! Sucks, but at least you have an excuse to get a new one

Perhaps you can borrow another card from a friend and try it out? Even with no drivers the card should at least post and boot into windows...

Alright guys, guess its time to get a new one.

Since I'm low on money right now, i'm thinking about going for a Radeon HD 5670. From what I've gathered from google and considering I'm using a 1440x900 resolution it shouldn't matter if i go for the DDR3 version instead of the DDR5, am I right?

Thanks a lot for the help guys, I really appreciate it.

Cheers!
