My first successful overclock! - 2600K

Thread Starter
As the title says I made my very first successful overclock!

Im very happy right now with how it performance and kicks my old rigs butt!

I used the guide from Tom's Hardware and ended up at 4.5 GHz!

Here is a link incase someone wants to read it:

http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/...clocking-guide

The things I did to make it happen was:

Disable:

Limit CPUID Maximum
Power Technology
C1E Support
OverSpeed Protection
Spread Spectrum

Enable:

Internal PLL Overvoltage
Execute Disable Bit
Intel Virtualization Tech

And all the voltage settings at Auto wich made is very easy to overclock!

Idle temps: 32-35
Load: 58-62

Here is my CPU-Z Validator:

http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=1822534

Im still trying to push to higher clocks but just can't find any stable voltage for it.

I even tried turning off HT and it made it more stable but I want it on since I bought it with HT.

Any tip on how to overclock this beast more let me know!

Many Regards

Push the vcore further. I personally always keep mine at a max of 1.4v. Higher than that is not worth the risk it imposes.

Also, make sure your temps are in check, I usually like to keep max temps around 70c.

Temps isnt to much of a problem since its not higher than 62'C.

But with HT off its more stable. Would you recommend turning it off?
