I'm having problem with my 2X Asus GTS450 graphics card with nvidia driver 270.61

It's my first time building a computer and so please don't flame if i did something wrong

I have:
-Asus M4N75TD Mother board
-2 of Asus GTS 450 graphics card(s)
-1TB sata HDD
-lite-on BD
-850W kingwin PS
-AMD phenom ii x4 BE 3.4

Okay so I actually have two problems here. First i would like to address the issue of new Nvidia Driver 270.61 with Asus GTS450. Whenever i update to 270.61, my computer wouldn't power off unless done manually and also Asus Smart Doctor wasn't working properly unless it's in SLI mode, thus i just installed back to the driver that came with the graphics card and it works perfectly fine.

Second would be my VIA audio driver. Whenever i listen to music on any program(s) Itunes, WMP or whatever i decide to browse around internet it'll make a song crackly(?), and choppy. However this only happens when i don't have a media player as my priority, so i decided to Uninstall it and now the sound works perfectly fine.

So far here's my analogy for the whole thing:
I believe that there's incompatibility of Asus intergrated software that is conflicting with Nvidia drivers unless it's modified by Asus by themselves, and also VIA audio driver is just glitchy in the first place, which is not your computer's fault, but the programmers are not doing well on their job(s).

What am i doing wrong guys? BIO is in default because i don't want to temper with anything that may affect the performance of the computer and also the operating system. I mean as of now i wouldn't have any problems, but what if it becomes necessary for me to update my drivers in order to function well for games or programs that are upcoming in the future?

IF you have read the whole thing, i thank you for at least considering it to read.

first up... welcome 2 OCN...

do u know what driver version came with your card?

try running 267.59 drivers and see how you go...

are your sound card drivers all the way up to date?

instead of using Asus Smart Doctor.. try MSI afterburner (works on all cards)

thank you so much it helped me out a lot actually. I love the MSI afterburner SOOO much better

Welcome to OCN.

You could have went with a single card that will outperform those two GTS 450s, which really aren't worth SLIing when you can get a single card that does more.

you know you are completely right about that. I should've gotten a single card that is powerful enough *sniff sniff* now you made me cry wahhh *runs away like a little girl..*

don't worry about it....

atleast you can brag to your mates about having SLI

i have one in my rotten apple build...

they run everything nicely...

and i will add another later on for tri head ...

hey... that is one advantage you have got there... you can run Nvidia Surround

EDIT:

Also.. i know alot of people who do the same thing...

but hey... it would still run most games close 2 max... depending on your screen res

i bought SLI so i can have enough mem for video editing and dual monitor watching, but to be honest i find it useless. Plus, i bought it because at the time it was on sale lulz~!!

the memory doesnt stack, you still only have 1GB when they are in SLI, and you can use dual monitors with one card.

But those cards aren't bad, don't feel bad about it unless you payed a lot for them

hmm one doesn't stack? Perhaps i was wrong about my analogy. I was comparing two graphics cards with 2 barrels which one barrel full of oranges and the other barrel can aid in order to free other barrels space in order to fill more oranges. So SLI just means you have two monitors for dual monitoring only? what a useless junk LOL
