Single gtx 480 OC vs 5870 crossfire OC vs 6950 2GB - Page 2

HD6950, it's a lot cooler and more efficient than GTX 480 and unlocked it will be faster. Even if not unlocked the difference is still minimal. Something like 50 vs 55 FPS.

Hmmm, looking at
http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/292?vs=309
the 480 only really wins in games I have never heard of.

I am now seriously considering going ATI.
The big +s are 2GB of vram for future proofing.
And my motheboard doesnt support SLI, only crossfire.

How would an unlocked and OCd 6950 compare to an OCd 480?

Pretty much 99% decided on the 6950.
My only worry is that the nvidia seems to have better drivers and better game support. But thats probably just fanboy talk.

Looking at psu requirements , it looks like I could even Xfire 2 of them on my psu.

According to anandtech, the total system load power consuption of 6970s sli is 601W, and the TX psus normally do higher than they are rated at.

CrossfireX 5870's will annihilate a single 6950, which is not impressive by itself anyways.

Another thing, how is ATIs DX11 and tesselation performance?(especially the 5870 sli or 6950)

I would like to be able to play BF3 at pretty high settings.

EDIT:Actually, it looks like 5870 or 6870/6850 crossfire would be more bang for back, which setup would be betteR?
