This... I get the itch to build something new almost weekly... can't justify it, but if something blows up...

My Server (2600k) folds 24/7 along with my sig rig. Its been like that for months now and no problems at all. By the time I kill my cpu's or gpu's(lifetime warranty) its time to upgrade anyways. I really dont care if stuff blows up. Fold until you see fireworks!

I'm pretty sure 24/7 stressing is not considered "normal usage"

My water cooling system keeps my OC'ed video card cooler under 100% load than the stock cooler kept it in 2d mode while surfing the web.
It also keeps my OC'ed CPU significantly cooler than than temperatures Intel's internal research has found to cause degradation.

I've been running my i7-950 at 4.3 Ghz 24/7 folding for a couple of months now. I've almost got 4.5 Ghz stable at good temps, but I hate to pull it away from folding for long enough to get it dialed in.

I don't see how I am shortening the life of anything in my pc by folding. My temps are always under 63c for both my cpu and gpus so no damage from heat, if anything the fans on the gpus maybe but only because I patched the nvidia firmware to allow them to get to 100% fan speed.,

So who in their right mind would tell them they folded with it? What they don't know won't hurt them.

Most electronic equipment is rated for so many hours of usage. It doesnt matter if it takes 10 years or 10 months to get there. Ill use mine full out since warranty goes by years. They dont care to know if you ran it 24/7 or not. They will never ask that and you will never say it. There is no more to it.

I would feel uneasy if they run idle all day.

5ghz @ 24/7 - 77c highest temp - this will give me at least 2 years of folding power, if it passes that then I will consider it a bonus.

By that time, I already have another $300 bucks to waste for a replacement anyways.

If they actually state in the product instructions: this product is not intended for using within it's specs for long periods of time...I would go with a different manufacturer...
