I'm really not concerned about the sound quality of the headset as much as it not breaking in a year. I go through a new pair of headsets every year because the mic stops working. Buying a $30 headset every year adds up, by now I could of just bought one that will last 5+ years and be better quality.
I will be using USB, so I know I will definitely be getting a quality loss... but I'm using it just for vocals 99.9% of the time. Ventrilo doesn't really sound that great coming through a $500 center speaker. It's can get very loud and annoying. If this wasnt the case i'd just buy a table mic.
I usually wear a headset and have it play ventrilo sounds, while everything else comes through my normal speakers. Another reason why the Senn will not work for me after researching them, they cup around your ears.Edited by Murlocke - 5/16/11 at 6:25pm
