Is -bigadv still relevant?

Exactly as the title states. I fold 24/7 on my i7 and have 6GBs of ram. It's been a while since I've folded . I'm getting around 18-19k ppd regular SMP.

Heck yea!

Put those 8 threads threads to work. Bigadv should yield you around 30k PPD

Can my sig rig run it? gigabyte 790XT USB instead now only difference

Edit : going from 4->8gb RAM will that help keep a higher PPD while using the comp while its folding? Or just in general.

Would be great to know. Thanks =D

technically bigadv requires 8 cores/threads, there's a workaround in linux but a phenom x4 is just not fast enough to complete bigadv units on time, even at 4ghz+

more ram wont improve ppd, smp uses about 1gb and bigadv 2gb, faster speed/tighter timings does help though

Oh well that's a bummer.

The question is , have you had enough of listening to your computer run 24/7? the points will never go out of style.
