This monitor model in particular is about to be released and I believe it is special enough to deserve its own thread.
Highlights:
27" 1920x1080 Resolution
2ms response time (TN)
True 120Hz via Display-port or DVI-D
Semi-gloss or "Ultra-Clear" panel
LED back lit (edge lit)
Motion sense standby mode
Automatic brightness control sensor
A beautiful design worthy of any desk
Expected US retail around $700-$800 with a launch in June 2011. If Samsung manages to keep the input lag to a minimum, I believe they may hit one out of the ballpark with this LCD.
It is not a bad design. This particular model is to sit on your desk and be used not requiring a VESA mount. Samsungs S27A750D version of this same screen has a VESA mount if you are interested in that.
I see the S27A950D has DVI-D. Will it work with 3D Vision with the 120hz refresh and the DVI-D? or it needs anything else for being "3D Vision Ready"?
Yes this monitor can do true 120Hz input via DVI-D and DP. It is unclear if it will work with nVidia 3D vision. Possible work around might surface even though nVidia doesn't officially support it.
Here's a clue 27 inch 1080p. How big will the pixels look?
This ->Samsung SM2233RZ
That's samsungs fastest 120hz monitor. Its just below 1080p because the screen size is smaller fits the pixels perfectly plus 3d murder your framerates. So its a perfect screen
If you ask me, on fps If I want pixel headshot. I need to close the eye almost 2 feet next to a screen for a proper view. That on 23.5 inch monitor. =/
I'm waiting for this to come out so I can compare it to the dell u2711.
Correct me if I'm wrong but I heard that you can only get 120Hz in 3D mode 60Hz in 2D.
