What size for SSD boot drive? - Page 2

120 GB allows for multiple partitions.
I love mine.
No remorse here.

Is a RAID 0 with SSD dangerous?

Also, if I'm correct, 2 32 gig SSD RAID 0 would be a total of 64 gigs of storage right?

Also, if SSD is faster in future, do both RAID drives need to be of the same read/write speed?

edit for ninja post: raid 0 on ssd isnt bad just you lose the trim function which if careful with your writes and space left over isnt all that important. and yes ssds will be faster in future i suppose but keeping with the budget theme than the one you decide to purchase now will be cheaper.

and yes 2x32=64

Trim and raid aren't supported at present. (As far as I know) It will cause your drives to slow down in the long run.

RAID 0 removes TRIM functionality (important) and provides almost no performance increase except in a select few drives. There is no point in RAID 0 with SSDs, just buy a bigger one.

I've got a 64GB drive, it seems I should have more free because I don't think I've got THAT many applications installed.

Actually when I took the screen shot I noticed I had indexing enabled. DON'T WORRY! I just disabled it. I thought I had done that a long time ago but apparently I forgot. I uninstalled the Crysis 2 demo as well which was eating up an additional 2GB.
