the 480 and 570 are the same in performance except in 3dvision or surround vision setups...

due to the smaller VRAM on the 570...

so a second 480 it is me thinks

almost the same ...

I dont need a second card but i want one as im not upgrading for a long time.

Do you think i would be better off with a 480 as its got more ram making it more future proof

I have two 570s and my buddy has 4 480s. I love these cards. 950 on the core with stock cooling but I know with water 480s don't mess around. Btw 480s are ~ $ 200 on ebay. My buddy got one with a koolance block for $260 shipped.

SLI scaling should be virtually identical. I'd rather have two 480's, esp. on H2O, myself, but there's a decent case that could be made for either card depending on pricing I suppose.

If you don't need one, wait, and don't hurry to buy one.
You will get it cheaper once you actually need one as people will start selling their cards for next series cards in a few months.
So the 4xx value will drop a bit.

If you want one to just have two, get a 480. They cost the same if not cheaper than 570 by about 50$. You can also get one second hand for cheaper.

And yes, you are better off with a 480 as its more "future proof" than the 570.
