Cooling Solution - Page 2

unless you get a corsair 700d or 800d and mod a radiator at the top ( but cutting fan holes and screwing it in )

you wont be able to fit in your antec 100. that rad anyway. that would be either a 360 or 480 rad in the top.

if you done a little modding you could get a 240mm radiator in the front bottom bays. but would have to take out your hard drive bays. ( can use a 5.25" bay to 3.5" bay converter )

would only really be un riverting the back side of the hard drive cage. ( small panel )
and mounted a radiator/fans in their...

otherwise you could buy a new case.. something like the HAF ? or 600d? up to you really if you went watercooling proably need a bigger case.

or you could get a H70, and mount in your rear 120mm fan. which would work nicley

I've decided to mod my current case because it's become more like a personal challenge.

Here's where I'm at right now. After ripping my entire setup apart, some math, and a bug up my ***, I've figured a plausible solution. Before I continue, I should add, attention to detail and the way it looks are of the upmost importance. The rig I posted earlier is amazing, and I loath the idea of thousands of tubes without regard to a well designed setup. While I do care about price, I care about design and performance the most.

Radiators: I will mod the plastic top at the front of my case to have a 120mm fan sitting in it's base with a grill so it won't be noticed. No clue on fans but I would like best cooling with high regard for noise. I will place a radiator (GTX120 Black Ice) under the fan in the upper two CD bays.

The second rad will sit atop the case over the 140mm fan port with a fan in the stock location (GTX140 Stealth or whatever the low profile rad is called)

The third rad (if needed) will sit outside of the rear 120mm fan port with a fan in the stock location.

Will this suffice? Do I need two or three rads?

Pump: dual Swiftec MCP 355 or 35X mounted beside the 3.5" bays in the rear of the case. Ideas on pumps that would be better for this lengthy loop? One or two?

CPU Block: Heatkiller 3.0 Nickel 1155. Open to ideas but I'd like it to match the rest of the blocks.

Ram Block: Koolance Ram-33 x4

Mofset block: still waiting for one I really like but there are a few out. Hopefully more to come.

GPU Block: Koolance HD 5870 block x 2 (I ordered the second card)

North and South Bridge Blocks: No clue

Reservoir: Alpha cool cape bullseye, modded into the lower 3.5" drive bays to display from the exterior front of the case.

Flow meters: undecided but I would like to mod on right into the mesh on the front of my case.

Fans: No Clue! Haven't gotten this far yet...

Tubing: Tygon Clear with blue cooling solution and black for the tubing that is in the background.

Fittings: Bits power chrome compression fittings 3/8ID 1/2OD

Lighting: who knows. I'll take ideas but I'm pretty resourceful.

--------------------------------------------

Will it work?
Do I need to add anything else?

I would like for the install to look like it was integrated from the start and everything to be very...um...pretty (there I said it). I also don't want to destroy my case entirely (ie. Removing whole drive bays, etc. Drilling holes or unseen mods I don't care about, but the part I will see has to look seamless)

Here's the order of importance:

Look/Design-->performance-->Cost-->Modding difficulty

Hopefully I haven't forgotten anything. The only thing I have purchased is the sig rig below and a second HD 5870 EF6. No W/C parts have been ordered. I would like for as many of the blocks to be silver in color with black as a second choice.

Thanks for any and all help!

Uhh... don't mean to be a party pooper.
Make sure your 5870 2GBs are reference as well as your 5870 waterblocks. When your GPU has 6 Mini-HDMI and 1GB over the reference, I really doubt it's reference design.

Also, watercooling RAM, MOSFETs, and the north/south bridge is sort of a waste. All it does is increase restriction... the blocks are hella expensive as well.

Pump related, I would get the MCP35x. It's basically an upgraded 355 with an aftermarket top on it. It's about the same price as a 355+top, but comes with the top preinstalled, PWM control, upgraded internals, and the 3 year warranty you keep by not taking off your top ^_^

I checked the GPU from pictures online. The extra 1GB is on the back side of the card not on the front and it looks like the Ref Full Block will fit (Fingers crossed).

I was thinking the same thing for a pump. The 35X seemed like a good idea but I read several poor reviews. Will I need one or two?

I really just wanted to do the mosfet/south bridge for looks. I may end up doing all of this at a later date anyway. There aren't really any options for my mobo at this time.

How many Rads do you think that I will need to cool the two GPUs, CPU, and RAM?

atleast a decent 360 rad.

which i dont think will fit :/ get 3 x 120mm fans and see if you could mod it into the top or bottom panel ( depending where your psu is )

if not, i would just go with a H70 tbh. unless you want to buy a little bigger case.
and mod it a bit x)

my old centrion 590 mid tower case could fit a 360 rad up the top, but rad would have to be ontop of the case. with the barbs going through, so no tubes going everywhere.
and fans inside the case.

but ended up selling both the wcing AND case recently
