Help heating PC ?

Thread Starter
I built my PC about 8 months ago the first 5 months the temps were good between 36-38 idle but know the temps are quite high between 48 - 50 idle I did clean the PC Fans with canned air the temps did go down for a while but have gone back up again. I have a nh-d14 cpu cooler but am thinking it could be the graphics card which is a Nvidia GTX 480 even though it's the cpu temp that's going up but am sure if the graphics card is heating up it will affect the temps of the cpu aswell.

Not to much if you have good air flow in your case.

Think back what did you change before? maybe even ambient temps changed. I know here it did.

What are your load temps? Idle temps don't mean much on their own.

I'd say its the ambient temps most likely .. I say that on behave of the knowledge that you have cleaned you PC, so there shouldn't be dust do ruin the cooling oppotunty.

Else there isnt much more to do, than maybe changing you TIM.

Maybe you should consider a Case fan with higher CFM .. just a siggestion ... keep us updated ..

Load temps are 70 max after 16 hours of prime95 sorry forgot to mention cpu is overclocked to 3.8GHz i7 950

anyone say dust yet?

use an aircompressor to blow out the case
cleaning fans alone wont help much
blow out the heatsinks and psu forward/backward

Ambient temps rising, re apply TIM
