This does not ban people from Folding -bigadv on i7s, X6s or i5 2500ks. As long as they complete the -bigadv and upload within the deadline, it is allowed.

However, be aware that -bigadv WUs were designed for 8 cored CPUs and higher. While CPUs that don't meet this requirement are currently able to meet this deadline, it is possible that this might change in the future (though there are no plans for this at the moment). If that were to happen, you would need to default back to SMP WUs on those CPUs.

Yah but if I fold bigadv on seven threads in addition to gpu, my ppd on the bigadv is better. So to those who wants to do both, it's fine, as stated, if you can meet the deadline.

Whilst I may have missed something, your post makes it sounds like X6's can natively run -bigadv without a whole lot of faffing...

Where? "This does not ban people from Folding -bigadv on i7s, X6s or i5 2500ks." is the only mention of it.

The way I read it was that it's normal but not recommended to fold on X6. In reality it's much harder than that

Off topic... I read this in the rules; wonder if Deeeebs knows about it ?

Q: I'd like to try running these units to burn in our new ultra-secret 80-core chip at work - with permission, of course. Is there any upper limit to the bonus points you will award?
A: At current time, the maximum bonus factor is 10x (completion of a 2681 work unit in 1/50th the deadline = approx 2 hrs 50 min). If you're in a position to exceed that, talk to us.

No, that bit was my addition, since a lot of our X6/i5 users Fold -bigadv, and just letting them know it's not against the rules.

K, that makes sense

KOBALT, I think that the problem with it running close to the deadline means there's a greater chance of missing that deadline, which they want to avoid.
