8800GT Thermal pads

Thread Starter
I took the thermal pads which i thought i wouldnt have to use again of my 8800GT because i had brought an Accelero S2 of ebay so i was replacing the pads with RAM sinks. Anyway, I couldn't mount the Accelero heatsink because i didn't get any screws... anyway after a ful refund i was left with no thermal pads? just wondering where i could get some from? they look like this:

I'm looking for the best performing thermal pads i can buy if possible. Thanks

You could use the same ones, they're reusable.

3M makes thermal pads you could get some from them or there are lots of them on sale on ebay.

They are probably in landfill atm, so... haha

My dad has a lot of business with 3M ill let him know i need some, could you give me some specs on what kind of pads im looking for? assuming there are many types. Thanks

The thermal pads usually come in 2 sizes, 0.5mm & 1.0mm, not sure if you need both for the 8800 or not. The 200, 400 & 500 series use 0.5mm on the ram & both on different parts of the vrms.
Places like frozenCPU & performance PC sell replacement pads from EK & Koolance as well.
Whenever I take off a stock cooler I always put any pads that stick to the card back on the heatsink & stick it back in the anti-static bag for the future.

The prices are sky high for some flipping thermal pads. I found these:
http://www.specialtech.co.uk/spshop/...roductid=12272

But they are too much, i would need at least 2. Thats £13 including shipping, no way.

I contacted XFX about the situation, hopefully i get a reply soon.

Those pads are only re-usable to an extent. They're TIM with netting on both sides. Once they've been squeeze to a certain degree they're too thin. Plus they come apart real easy.
