Overclocking i7 930/bsod at only 3.35ghz

Thread Starter
I am having problems getting my cpu to overclock over this point....i get a bsod within 20 seconds of changing my multiplier from 160-170...not sure what to do next...

Turns out it was because i had XMP on along with my uncore being to high...

Thanks for the help

The obvious questions... BCLK, CPU Volt, CPU multi...

Your chip simply may not bump that high without a mild nudge in voltage.

what is your memory ratio?

try 2:8
Bump your voltage .1

Another query: D0 or C0 chip

So BCLK is 165?
CPU Multi is x21?

930's are D0's by default. Also, does your 930 have HT on at sig speeds?

And raise the voltage indeed.

And 940s were C0 only.

That was a fail chip.

Nice little tip thanks xD.

I honestly didn't know that. Makes sense I suppose as Intel doesn't revert stepping with a later processor in the series.
