[MX] New Blood Test Shows How Long You Will Live. - Page 2

That is interesting. I wouldn't take the test, personally. Perhaps I just like living with lots of uncertainty.

However, I do think I'm on my way out. I've been hearing songs in my head that I grew up with. Every day now for the last two weeks I've been hearing oldies tunes when I wake up. Not on the radio or anything... just in my head. Haven't thought about those songs in years, and here they are....

I will never allow a procedure like this to be done to me. I'd rather not know anyways.
I'd imagine they will not jack up their rates, but rather only offer coverage to people who have had the test done or require it for enrollment and who's telomeres indicate a life expectancy within a certain limit... which would in fact be even more evil.

Sooooo, it's a death clock?

Dying of old age is one thing, but whether I get there is another.

I bet people are just dying to take this test.

Sorry, but that's not an accurate way to gauge life expectancy. I"m not even talking about dying earlier due to accidents. You can still live much longer than this test would inform you.
Id like to know. I dont get why ppl think receiving a low life expectancy from the test is a bad thing. I mean at first ofc but then you get the chance to take risks without consequences.

Personally If I received a low life expectancy, Id hit on girls(not literally) more without being afraid of what they think of me later, same with telling people what I really think about them, blow all my money travelling or something exotic not wasting time doing ultimately meaningless stuff at home, and I wouldn't postpone my dreams for later and Id be more motivated to see a goal completed.

On the flip side, If I received an old age. Id prob do exactly what I'm doing right now.

Noone should know approximately when they will be dying. It isn't written anywhere. Or shouldn't be. Life isn't about living and knowing about when you will die. Life is about never knowing how long you truly have. About living each day to the fullest because you don't know what tomorrow will bring.
I think this will cause more issues than it helps. Insurance can be denied or rates adjusted based on your expected longevity.
I certainly don't want to know when I will die.

I'm one of the very few people that would like to know my death date. Even though it's not accurate.

I have quite a bit of gray hair at 18 years old, does that mean I'm aging or is it just my hair is different? I have black hair btw... This test's intention is nothing but to increase the suicide rate.
