Yes, a true point that I was about to raise. However, I'd like to add that Apple is in a much better position to initiate a public offering to raise capital because their stock price is extremely high and they have so few shares compared to M$. Of course that would be pointless since Apple is already sitting on a boatload of cash; more than Microsoft actually. And we can't forget Apple's unmatchable brand equity. Overall Apple's valuation is higher than Microsoft's today.
I don't know about this. Factually, you're correct. But I think if both companies decide to raise money to buyout the other, I'd guess there's a larger chance that MS will get the financing, not Apple. Although US Gov would probably step in and prevent this from happening at all,
MS is still a much bigger name than Apple, and they have more "say" in tech matters. If the common man runs on Apple, then the business world runs on Microsoft.
