Question about my VRM's

Thread Starter
I have 3 TMPIN numbers in HWmonitor (TMPIN0 TMPIN01 TMPIN02). I think that TMPIN 01 is my socket temp. Are TMPIN02 my VRM's ? The temps on TMPIN02 are usually 1° lower than my socket temp when im folding so about 54°. Are these good temps for unheatsinked VRM's ?

Excepting the CPU sensors ,GPU and HDD most of the other readings are bogus. You pay to much attention to those temps.

Usually it is indeed TMPIN02 that on Gigabyte boards, however considering the conditions they should run much hotter; if one of your other TMPIN** is running hot, that might be the VRMs and not TMPIN02; there's not much way to tell per board.

On a 955 at C3 this could be dangerous, I knew someone here on an unlocked Phenom II x2 (to x4, so similar power consumption to 955) on a 785GM-US2H (same VRM design, a cheaper low end 4+1 with known issues)..... at the very high voltage & clock speed, despite having VRM cooling on, the VRMs made a really loud screeching noise during load. I had warned him time and time again before the screeching noises began, and he got a new board eventually.

No TMPIN0 is at 28° when under load and idle so I don't think that my board has VRM temp sensors too bad for me
