Isn't my Mobo suppose to beep when powered on ? - Page 2

As said above, a mobo will only beep if the internal speaker is enabled.

If you don't have a case speaker around but you do have an old set of busted headphones take the driver out and you can attach the leads to the indicated pins on the main-board and you can then check your beeps.

It is easier if you kept your broken 486. It will have a speaker you can remove and put in your tech kit.

My DFI 790FXB-M2RSH had a built in speaker but they had it disabled because it has a LCD screen. Simply moving the jumper next to the speaker turned it on but my case also came with a speaker that I could use if I needed to.

I personally think speakers are stupid when you have an LCD screen to use. works so much better.

My case is on the floor so I'm not in LoS of the Motherboard LCD. I use the beeps as an indicator whether or not I should look at the LCD

Ok this is probably a dumb question, but when you say you have a LCD screen to use do you mean your pc monitor or do mean like a mini LCD screen on your mobo ?

A tiny LCD readout with post codes on it, sometimes in plain english, sometimes not.
Also my P8P67 always makes a single startup beep as it boots up.
Unless I shut that off in bios.

So I just need to turn it on in the bios ? Why would they ship these boards with it off in the bios. I'll check it out tonight and see if I can turn on.
