Corsair H50 Compatible with Gigabyte GA-Z68X-UD3P-B3?

Was looking to upgrade my P67 mATX board to a Z68 full ATX board. The only question I have is if my Corsair H50 will work and be compatible with the new Gigabyte GA-Z68X-UD3P-B3 board. It works fine on my P8P67-M Pro, but don't really want to invest in a new cooler if I were to upgrade.

Thanks!

If Z68 is still using the 1155 mounting holes, then just use the 1156 mounting hardware. You should be fine.

Correct. However, I read that some P67 boards weren't 100% compatible with the Corsair H50 (some corners couldn't make complete contact, etc). Was just curious if that was the case with this board.

The board is socket 1155. So long as the H50 comes with 1155 mounting hardware, it is going to fit.

Interesting. That might be because of what's all around the CPU socket. I would look around the CPU socket and see if there is enough room. I know I have seen some boards with PLENTY of room around the CPU socket, and some with barely any.

The H50 is round, the H60 I use is square. I've had to turn the block 90 degrees so it would fit, it made contact with some components around the socket.
I don't see that problem occur with the H50.

As long as the retention ring doesn't interfere with the caps, I can't see why it wouldn't. I don't think that Gigabyte would use caps that are taller than the Asus ones.
