Budget AMD Build Parts - RAM, CPU & Mobo - Page 3

Interested in a mini ITX build? Tiny little PC they can just put on any shelf, smaller than the average printer.

http://secure.newegg.com/WishList/Pu...umber=22245308

You can shave the cost down even a little lower by dropping 2GB of RAM and a smaller hard drive. That little i3 is quite a performer; I have a Toshiba laptop with an i3 (pretty sure it's a 340) that runs very nicely, and I have pretty high standards for performance. This i3 540 should kill the i3 my Toshiba has.

Edit: Just read you want Amazon/Microcenter, sorry. Pretty sure you can grab all of this at either one though.

You don't need anywhere near 500W for that system.

If the Corsair ,Seasonic or Enermax are known to work why buy something else.
Enermax has also a new series of 50$ 400-450W PSU-s .

Links would be very helpful guys.

As of now this seems to be the way to go:

Patriot Extreme 4GB and sell the 2nd stick

Any better deals on 4GB of RAM? I'd rather spend $35 on 4GB then $22 on 2GB.

Last but not least, do you guys think the 760G chipset will be okay for the X4 840?

I would recommend you get the 785G instead of the 760G.

The 785G supports better video accleration incase that want to watch online videos or movies.
Once again...

Out of the 2 step up boards one doesn't have an on board GPU and the other only supports DDR2 RAM.

This MSI mobo has the 785G chipset but is also DDR2 RAM.

If I can get some DDR2 RAM cheap then I guess this wouldn't be an issue.

Also, they don't watch movies from what they told me.

EDIT:
Found a better deal on RAM: 4GB OCZ Gold $30 after MIR

Too bad.... they use to have a mATX MSI 785G with DDR3 but I guess that is gone now.

yuksel911 - By the time I get that w/a mobo I mine as well just get the x4 840.

Should I get the

or the ?

Do you guys think the Gigabyte mobo is the best to choose from in this scenario?
Here is a link to Micro Center's AMD bundle page: AMD Bundles

Back to the RAM I think I'm gonna go with the Patriot because I can sell the 2nd stick and it'll work out cheaper.

EDIT: Just saw V1 doesn't come with a $20 rebate.
