Dell U2311H - $249.00 - Page 3

Compared side by side with my crt there is noticeable ghosting. I can't play fast motion games, and even watching some fast motion 1080p video there is noticeable lagginess. In my opinion no lcd compares to how smooth fast motion looks on crt, but there is also a lack of sharpness on crts. For still images and general use ips is awesome though.

It's not bad, but get a game that makes you use motion blur (Metro 2033) and I bet it would be totally noticeable.

Input lag is definitely a concern. However, I would most definitely notice a difference with an 8ms response time. I'm one of those die-hards that held out using my CRT as long as possible. The main reason I did so was ghosting. Believe me, I can tell a difference between 2-5-8 ms. I've been playing FPS's for a long time, and as quickly as I move/look around, with the higher response time's, it can seriously start to make you motion sick.

I wonder if this is why games like TF Quake died out.

TF2 is nice, but TF Quake was sooooo much more faster paced.

You wont regret it. I promise. I paid $350 for one (well, 300 if you want to be technical - I got $50 free via gift card deal) and I'm loving every second of it.

I got a refurb several weeks ago...
I couldn't tell it wasn't brand spanking new.

The picture on IPS panels is AMAZINGly awesome, and I haven't noticed any lag at all in FPS & fast action games.

The only thing I noticed (on my second, my first had a scratch in it which Dell replaced overnight) was that someone forgot to wipe it down (there were streak marks on the monitor). Very good monitor at a very good price.
