just a few quick questions sorry.

iv been looking at hdmi to mini hdmi adaptors and vga cables.

1. if its gold plated it wont make any difference to picture quality or clarity?

2. is it worth buying something hdmi wise or will vga cables do the same thing?

1- gold plated is just a marketing ploy .. get whatever is cheaper
2- hdmi -- im using an lcd tv via hdmi connection. .. picture looks better compared to VGA

ive never used it for audio but i suppose yes . it will still work
as for the male-female

get a male mini-hdmi to female hdmi

male plugs in to your card then plug the cable in the female

(its weird , having to say that )

I 2nd this advice ... sound will work, and you need a male-mini ==> female full -size + the HDMI cable itself. Get the cheapest you can find, it's not worth upgrading to 'Monster' or whatever with HDMI because its a digital signal, just ones and zeros, so a cheap one works just as well

Make sure your adapter is a short cable with jacks on both ends, rather than a single piece adapter with jacks on either side w/no cable. The single piece one's can have clearance issues, because the jack on the card is at the end of the card's backplate, which put's it *right* up against the case.

Gold plating is a marketing ploy, and it's only advantage is that it'll never corrode ... however a regular non-gold cable won't corrode for like 10 years anyways unless you live right by the ocean.

theres two types of VGA cable, one of them which is older has a missing pin, which is supposed to give better quality IIRC than the newer ones.

plug it into the same HDMI port you use for the PS3.. because you know it works...

and see how that goes...

there may be a issue with the TV

yes i do.

its a bit weird because if i plug it into the ps3 it comes up no probs, but into the PC it just stays black and if i turn it over to another hdmi channel it wont go back to the one i have it plugged into.

the computer reconignises it fine it comes up as SAMSUNG on the nvidia control panel, maybe its an issue with resolution? i can give u the model code and serial number if u need?
