what ripjaws x do i want? - Page 2

Not trying to dog out the RipJaw series.. but if your an overclocker i'd seriously stay away.
2 sets of my ripjaws, wouldnt allow annyyyyy overclocking whatsoever.
just my 2 cents. no flaming.

or should i get
F3-10666CL7D-8GBXH (CL7-7-7-21 1333 mhz)

instead of F3-12800CL9D-8GBXL (9-9-9-24; 1600 mhz)

many ppl advised me that 1600 mhz brings close to no increase in my current setup

What do you intend to use your rig for?

Answering this will allow us to recommend the best RAM for your particular scenario.

If you need 8GB, then a blind recommendation from me would be the G.SKILL F3-12800CL9D-8GBXL kit you mentioned in the OP.

F3-12800CL8D-8GBXM only costs $5 more than F3-12800CL9D-8GBXL for me on newegg

If the difference is small like that for you, I would go with the F3-12800CL8D-8GBXM. Otherwise, F3-12800CL9D-8GBXL is a good choice.

My opinions are, run everything @ stock until you actually need the faster clocks, and faster timings.
