Is it worth a new case?

Thread Starter
I am going to buy an 1155 platform with 2500K and ASRock P67 Extreme4. I have a CM Hyper 212+ Push/Pull with MX-4. I am going to overclock this CPU not so much, just 4.5 - 4.8GHz maximum! Now I have not so good case. There are 2x80mm fans(2800RPM) and the sidepanel is opened. Is it worth to buy a new case? For example - CM HAF 922? Would be there a big difference in the major overclock? My overclock won't be so much and I think it would be OK without new case. I wanna listen your thoughts. Greetings!

If you only have 2x 80mm I would upgrade. It's good to have a front, rear, top the most. A 922 would be fine, honestly I like the 912 even better. It's cheaper but you'll have to add a top fan (which isn't gonna be a major downer if you don't have one at first).

i had a 922 and its a great case. then for this build i went with the 912. i like the 912 better because of removable harddrive cage and it also has a small cage for ssd's to. i just went with 4 coolermaster sickle flows fans and it works great.

A new case would most definitely be worth it just to increase the airflow. The first hurdle you will have to overcome is the heat produced by your system. Getting something like a HAF, CM STorm sniper/scout, CM 690 advanced or any other high airflow case will help drop your system temps considerably where heat isn't going to be your biggest limiting factor. It will be something else at the board/cpu level such as voltage or fsb walls etc.
