$1100 build for FL Studio

Thread Starter
Let me just say this to start: this machine will not be for gaming at all.

I got a request for a tower to run FL Studio and some other audio editing software. He wants to work with multiple high-bitrate tracks, connect to a keyboard (I imagine to use as a controller), etc.

I really don't know if this would be more memory or CPU intensive, if he is going to need some sort of midi interface, or what soundcard is right for this. Any help would be dearly appreciated.

Did you post this in the right thread? I don't get it. Did you buy your rig there?

first i`v never used the FL studio before
but i did some googlings and came up with this about the cards only:
thee realteck will do the job but not in the case you said (He wants to work with multiple high-bitrate tracks) so YES you need a dedicated sound card

Generally when you're looking at a pro or semi pro card you are going to be getting a higher quality ADC and DAC
The quality of the ADC and the master clock are critical for getting a good recording. Also, better cards can generally produce lower latencies when being used with soft synths.

and people using FL audio gave the M-AUDIO AUDIOPHILE and the HT Omega cards high ranks especially the top tire (the HT Omega Claro Halo for 240$)

but about the controllers maybe this link might clear something

hope that helped

Great info. Thanks. I think one of the M-Audio cards will do nicely as a midi and sound card. So I imagine I should ask him next what kind of controller he will be using, this way I am sure he has the right connector. I am pretty sure that most keyboards have the same midi connector so it shouldn't be that big of a deal I guess.
