Whats this switch worth? Going to sell it here on OCN soon.

Its a Netgear GSM7248 48 port switch. Its in great condition, but may have 1-4 bad ports.

Looking to sell fairly soon.

thanks.

Being as is, no guarantee of the 4 ports possibly being broken....$750

If there are 1-4 dead ports on it you can probably sell it off at $250ish. If all ports work probably $350ish. However you might have a hard time finding a buyer for it. There isn't a lot of people that need a 48port managed switch unfortunately. The businesses that do use something like that tend to purchase the switches so that they also can carry warranty/service contracts on it as they are for a business.

I have to agree, new they run over $1K, however with the issues you have stated, and it not being under a warranty, that will cut the price significantly.

New they run over $1k. Used they are about $500ish if they are working are certified refurb w/ warranty/service contract on it. With no service contract/warranty support plus 1-4 ports not working that drops the price down even more.

Also you have to think about the market for a 48port managed switch. That is typically a medium size or bigger business w/ either an IT Department or a consultant. The IT Department/consultant will typically want to get a new switch since it will come with warranty on it or if they do go with a used piece of equipment they would want one that comes with warranty/support included on it, as a managed switch typically is an important piece of equipment in the infrastructure of a business. If you want to sell it you are going to have to price it to move.
