Which cooler should i get for my x6 1090t and gtx580?

Hello all
I'm new to the platform and hope this is the correct place to ask for some advice.
I need some extra cooling for my processor and graphics card, i need some more silence, to be more precise... Which coolers do you suggest i get? Both for my amd phenom x6 1090t and for my zotac gtx580, both needs be air cooling

I'm planning to o/c my amd black edition processor to 4ghz thus stability is important but you already know that kind of stuff

Price gap: 50~60 bucks for each of them.
My case:NZXT Zero full tower case and i believe tower coolers are okay with that case but not sure as i'm not experienced personally.
My Motherboard:Gigabyte 880GM-UD2H

*Deleted some useless part*

Thanks beforehandly,
Efecan Irım

I rather like the Tuniq Tower 120 Extreme. I'm using a Cooler Master PWM Blade Master fan in it and its dead silent (1200 RPMs) at full load and 21C over ambient. I'm upgrading to a 1090T tomorrow so I can speak later how well the Tuniq works with it.

I dont think you're going to get to 4 GHz on that board without blowing something. It's a 4+1 phase unheatsinked VRM design.

Tower coolers will only make it worse for the VRMs as they blow air over the VRMs and not on them (like the stock cooler).

As you can see here, someone else with that board blew it while at 3.8 @ 1.4v. Not saying this is what will happen to yours, but you should slap some mosfet heatsinks on it before you start increasing voltages too high. You will definitely need over 1.4v for 4 GHz. Knowledgeable forum members created this chart. As you can see, they recommend no OCing on that board unless you add some heatsinks to the VRMs. 6 core CPUs tend to buckle these board more than quads, even though the TDP may be the same.

Not saying you can't OC with that board the way it is, but trying for 4GHz is risky.

For CPU coolers, you might want to look at an H50 or H70 if you truly want to reach 4 GHz.

That was really informing, thanks. I am enlightened, really, no sarcasm.

If i applied heatstinks on mosfets and got a nice cooler like h50 or h70, what would be my o/c limits? I mean i could use my cpu stable @3.8ghz with the same stock cooler when i first got into o/c thing, and why can't i with a better cooling? Isn't it possible to overclock without increasing voltage?

My mobo's a gigabyte product and says on the top cover of the box that it has some technologies like ''ultra durable 3, 2oc copper pcb, 2x copper pcb.'' I dont have the slightest idea about what they mean. lol

Lastly, i think psu is important when o/cing and i got Vantec van-800a. Hope its a good one.

BTW, i decided to get accelero xtreme plus for my vga. Still in a dilemma... h50 or a tower... don't know.

All chips are different. Phenoms get to ~3.8 easy with a little voltage increase. After that, they usually require much more voltage to get stable. It's kind of an invisible 'wall'. Like I said, all chips are different. You could have a good chip that needs less voltage. You won't notice any real world difference between 3.8 and 4 GHz though (unless you do lots of video encoding, etc.)

Cooling also depends on your ambient temperature. If you have a cool ambient, you may not need as much cooling.

You can OC without touching voltage, but you won't get that far (once again, depends on your chip).

I'm not familiar with Vantec so I can't say how good their PSUs are. However, it seems to not be a very reputable brand as there are no reviews on it. You should head over to the PSU board here on OCN. They can better advise you.

The H50 is on par with most high end air coolers I believe.
