APB: All Points Bulletin Reloaded Thread!

Thread Starter

Hey everyone, APB: Reloaded is the re-launch of the failed version from several months ago. The open beta releases tomorrow and I, as well as many others, are new to the game so I figured a thread dedicated to game info, tips, news, art, and screenshots would be in order.

To start things off, heres a link to the main site where everyone can sign up for the open beta (supposed to be) starting 5/18/2011

Main Website

To start...ideas for character names/models? The character creator is supposedly amazing, which gives room for quite a few possibilities

Here is a Link to the official Trailer:

Are there any major changes from the original? I hated the controls, especially the driving.

I am currently in the closed beta with a friend and while I haven't really noticed any changes in the steering of cars he said he notices that cars are more responsive.

I used to really enjoy this game. I'd spend countless hours creating works and customizing rather than actually playing the game haha.

I actually technically paid for almost a year's worth of subscription costs because when APB first came out, everyone got a little bit of the developer's store currency which could be used for the usual stuff like game time and server transfers. This currency could also be used to buy stuff in the ingame market. I'd then sell my work for this currency alone and actually made quite a bit since everyone had a little bit of it but couldn't use it for anything since it wasn't enough to buy additional game time.

The ingame "paint" tool consisted of only using primative shapes so you had to get pretty creative to get the exact shape that you wanted haha.

Here's some of the stuff that I did. The rules for censorship ingame were very relaxed .

I made the van from Scooby Doo in the first one. It was a fun game, but I don't feel like putting all that time back into the game.

The open beta was delayed, no update on an exact time. The latest statement is the following:

Quote:
Here's and update about the Open Beta release from TechMech: So - no word yet on the timing to the fix. Right now we have about 50% of districts that have been running without any DC for 5 hours since the patch, the other 50% have HAD a DC in the past 5 hours. That's better than before, but still not within the acceptable range.

I will make a more formal update once we have the next batch of results.

Driving was easy especially after their last patch (pre failure).

I will not be downloading this game at all and was an avid fan up until they closed. Played closed and open beta and amassed a fortune when the game came out and was in one of the highest ranking clans (nightstalkers, don't know if anyone here would know/have been a part of them).

Was somewhat disappointed when the game closed since I at one point had enough in game RTW points (which you could trade for time on your account or buy items/weapons/cars) for 5 years.

Still have some screenshots of the good ole' days :

If anyone played before the game crashed you should check out my photobucket page here to see some of my transactions I made that are somewhat odd :

Sold a few weapons when they were basically new to the servers for huge amounts of money and even sold a rocket launcher for the equivalent of $60 US.

AKA Zero. Probably one reason that would turn off potential customers to the game was in the first few weeks just hordes of nazis and people swearing over open mics.

Sick, I was really upset when APB closed. Hopefully this will be the same if not better.

Love this game

Been playing closed beta for a few weeks:

-new match making
-better balanced weapons/upgrades
-new respawn system
-better car handling
-new open world witness/crime system

lots of improvements over the original.

Kinda sucks for the people who did end up paying for this game however. Me being one of them, wish there was some sort of "perk" we got... something.....
