I'd like to see up to what point all of this is Crytek's fault really.

Anyone feels like EA is treating Crysis like their own COD?

As far as I'm concerned, Starcraft 2(and Shogun 2 as well (which has DX11)) both possess excellent gameplay to make up for this.

Something which in my opinion, Crysis 1 and 2 do not have.

I'm really not a graphics fan. I still play old games like Majesty, Red Alert, System Shock 2.. and still prefer them over new games. But a game known for it's graphics better have.. graphics

Well it's a smaller toned down version of Crysis 1. Like the Hummer 2 was of Hummer 1.

SMALLER? Well NYC streets tend to be more narrow than some island beach, but the game length is about the same. I don't know how it's 'toned down' though.

That's funny too b/c that was the #1 complaint about Crysis 1, so they go about Crysis 2 focusing on what gamers complained about and then a new batch of gamers came out complaining that its not a benchmark

Trying to please PC gamers is like a huge game of wack-a-mole.

Only if your name is not Valve.

On that note, what was the last game they came out with that had DX11 support?

I miss expansion packs. DLC just seem like such a cash grab.

Well, you see, they still haven't reached sales targets on the PC version, dontcha know. Only once they have 1000% profit margin, then they will start working on the game that everybody expected them to deliver.

Or, the more likely scenario is that ~50% of people liked it, and 50% hated it, and only the 50% who hated it said anything at all. If the developers can't take a bit of criticism, they should probably go back to sucking on mommy's teat.

Crytek is owned by EA. It hardly matters which bigwig at EA is to blame, as putting Crytek at fault is one in the same as blaming EA.

I meant the maps.

Really? Last time I checked it being a benchmark is what made it famous. Even people who found Crysis 1 boring played it simply for the graphics. The people complained are probably the same people who complained about DA:O being complicated... (in other words not CoD)

This will sound very elitist, but understand when I say PC gamers, I'm not talking about exclusive hardcore PC gamers, rather people who play on PC (they could play on console as well)
PC gamers are hard to satisfy because they like thinking for themselves and not following the hype or what other gamers think is cool. Sorry if we're not all one mind, mindlessly following what we're being told.
