Within bounds of NDA I am able to add that this card will very likely have a triple 8-pin power connector setup. I have seen a few of ASUS's sketches for this card and most do include 3 connectors. Very few had 2 but those were some of the more experimental designs rather than predesign layouts.
given that the ares 5870x2 is 1 6 pin and 2 8 pins, I would be pretty sruprised if they don't give it at least the same treatment. And 3 8 pins sounds even more likely

ASUS's previous GTX495 (MARS II) card had this exact setup and I cannot deny the new card sketches look quite similar:

Does no one remember the ASUS Mars or the ARES? Pretty sure the VRM arrangement was entirely custom for those.
