yup (2800 or 3000) I could never get pat 2880 cpu/nb on my board but as my sig is I do not lie and just through up a score that I hit for a min or two, I got it prime stable and also run for at least a week before I call it Locked in! I had the same problem with my system I would go up and scores would come down lol, did not understand it at all at first. I did a lot of reading and asking questions and got it figured out

ok put your cpu/nb up to 2800 and the cpu/nb volts now I have a question before I tell you the adjustment how does your bios do volts is it just enter the volts or is it + - volts

I did not mess with Volt's at all , as i never got a blue screen or crash yet. So i figured it was somewhat stable , But didnt do any Prime tests , Because performance seemed to be going DOWN ( GPU only ) not up so why test it , lol. its +/- in .005 Incraments i believe.

I feel like this Mobo Might be giving me issue's

Tempted to just grab a ASUS Crosshair IV Formula like i probably should of in the first place lol

ok well is this your first AMD chip? It was with me I always ran Intel till this one and there are things that are totaly different one being the CPU/NB is kinda like the soul of the AMD chip with it being at the stock 2000 or even 2200 you re not close to unleashing the power of the phenom! and the reason I bring up the volts is when you push it up to 2800 the stock volts which are ??? (i need to know yours so please get them so I can fill you in on what it needs to be +'ed to) need to be pushed up to about 1.4 volts or 1.45 max and then start to bring it down till you have memory crash then go back up, there are a lot of things to do to get your system up to the numbers you want and the people that you are getting those from have already done them trust me they are not 100% stock not even the reviewers

This is my first time really going into OC'ing , From my knoweldge the Bios update i just did ( sad face ) Has the NB locked @ x12 multi now. But i wil get you the stock volts when i go home. So you think the CPU/NB could somehow be slowing down the GPU on Benchmarks when i have the CPU overclocked? I will also try the Benchmark softwear the person earlier mentioned. Still Thinking of going asus tho... lol

there is nothing wrong with MSI, the asus board you want is also good but your problem dos not lay with the board cause you would need to do it on the crosshair IV as well, I will help you get it done if you want, I am curious about how you found me? And what you said in the PM is totally right about how some are on here and other sites as well

I just saw you very willing to help somebody else , And you seem like u know what your talking about , I have always had Asus , I bought the Msi board because i found a good deal on it. But after reading the "msi 890fx blow up section on here , and knowing it dosnt support Hex Core CPU's , I am rethinking my decision. I would love to grab an AM3+ Board , But I only have 8 more days of the 30day Warrenty and i dont think they would be out by then ( Asrock is the only company who is Selling "am3+" boards right now and i dont like the features of them. ) That way i could upgrade to bulldozer down the road but i looks like i might have to stick with the 965 for awhile lol

That asrock got UEFI, if it is possible to exchange it, why not? Asrock is a good brand

I had to adjust my NB/CPU Volts and it Oc's Fine now , That was the issue. Things keeping me from the Asrock is the fact i will take a huge hit in sound quality , and fork up 50+ $ for a "somewhat" am3+ board.
