ATH-M50's all the way. I have a pair of the 555's and the m50's and couldn't be happier having the best of both worlds in this price range. For what you are looking for the m50's would be perfect. As much bass as you want, great track identity, and good isolation from outside noise. I heard things on my m50's that I missed with my HD555's.
Spatially, the 555's do a great job of replicating a real 3D experience in your room, making me a little jumpy sometimes. The m50's are great for everything else, especially music in the hip-hop/dubstep genre. the sharps highs contrasted with the bass with the most clarity in comparison.
The m50's are still getting used to my big head, so comfort is about a 6/10 after 3 hours just from pressing on my ears. any shorter period than that and I'd say an 8-8.5/10, which is great for a closed back studio monitor. They will do MUCH better on a person with a smaller head.
