I'd def go for the Twin Frozr....but even tho its not on ur list, look at the Lightning (best pick of em all) or the upcoming Lightning Xtreme.

Id like to point out that everyone on here is currently recommending the one they think is best mostly in performance but you gave us a list and asked which one is the best yet gave no terms.

Personally id be getting the cheapest one there, it will work fine, and put out standard 580 graphics which should be more than enough for battlefield 3.

If you have the spare cash to splash and dont mind paying out for a better one then yeah id be for the twin frozr too or looking at some of the ati cards out there too.

3gb of VRAM are rather useless unless gaming at <1080p resolution (note: would need 2x cards in SLI for NVSurround), although it would be future-proofing, the OP said he will be only gaming at 1080p

Just to throw it out there.. I don't think that's completely true.

I would also recommend the MSI GTX 580 Lightning.
If you plan to stick to 1080p than a model with 1.5gb ram should be plenty sufficient, but if you believe that in the future you may get another card for sli and two more monitors for Nvidia Surround, than having the 3gb model will help a lot.

You mentioned price is a factor, you might also want to consider looking at what AMD has to offer. Crossfire 6950's would be more powerful (if you don't mind crossfire), especially if you can unlock them to 6970's.

Indeed, and as much as I would've loved having 2 of them babies, I couldn't justify the price...

2x Gainward 2gb 560Ti's are exactly half the price of one of the 580 3gb ones... And once overclocked can give 570's a run for their money!

:-)

Hi guys, I'm new to ocn..just wondering, would you guys still pick MSI GTX580 Lightning Xtreme with 3gb vram if the price is within $100 of a GTX590/AMD 6990? And if yes, I would like to hear some opinions
