You think you have stable oc ? Maybe you should think again...

Thread Starter
I just bought new 460 and oc'd it to 850 from 675 default ! So I tought I got lucky,I played crysis 1&2 and metro2033 for hours no problem. I run multiple times 3dmark06 and 11,heaven,and yes even occt gpu test with error check shader 8 for 15 mins, result - 0 errors.
So I thought I have stable oc and was happy until I started playing damned da2, it would artifact each hour once- it usually show up as yellow triangle or square where map should be in right upper corner.Off course it's just a flash and everything is back to normal.
Long story short,I had to drop the clock to 795 and it shows no artifacts now after 5 hours of gameplay.
I am still happy, but this just feels strange,I mean I had to drop off 55mhz from stable occt, and shouldn't occt be most sensitive test for gpu overclocks ?
Not to mention hours of gaming on crysis and metro2033.
I was really hoping it's just something wrong with da2,but then why it works on 795
Any comments or advice here is welcome. Anybody dare to test their oc on da2 ( very high,4x aa 16 af high textures)

DA2 is probably stressing your card in some manner. Try the MSI afterburner overcloking tool and increase the voltage on your card while at 850MHz.

DA2 is surprisingly GPU intensive in DX11 mode. No surprise it exposes instability in your OC.

Like rheicel said, you may be able to stabilize it with a voltage bump.
