Simple Vid. Output question?

I know this question may come dumb to most of you, but hey- i guess it's what this forum is for!

Anyway, i was looking to get a MSI Z68MA ED55 Becuase my sig rig isnt enough to handle the new GTX 570 i bought. Ill be running a 2500K.

However, i also like the MSI P67 C43 motherboard.

Now- the first one has two ports- a DMI and an HDMI port. However i looked and it doesnt have an onboard video. How is this? What are thoes two ports for? Should i buy the first one over the second becuase it has thoes two ports (Im looking for a motherboard i can buy so i wont have to use a GPU for a few months while i save my money, so in short, one with something i can plug my monitor into.)

Thanks in advance!

H67, H61, B65, Z68, Z77 boards support onboard GPU. P67 does not support onboard GPU. But H & B series do not allow overclocking of the CPU and only the GPU. GPU's come with the CPU now for socket 1155 chips.

So with the Z68, even though on Newegg it says no onboard video chipset, if i plug my monitor into the HDMI port on the board, it will show my screen, play games, etc.

Also on the Z68, i have a speaker/mic port, Firewire, 2 USB's, a power, and a status LED light on the front of my case. Will the Z68 be able to support all of them?

honestly you want Z68 or P67, just stick with those two, you don't really want to use the virtu tech, even if that is what MSI is using, as its really the only option b/c asus and GB are using it too.

Don't worry about video out through that HDMI port, its for D-MODE for Virtu, just use the system as is with the first MSI board, and just use your GTX 570. Virtu is buggy piece of jiunk.

The problem is that i have to take the GTX 570 back and get my money back, and use that money to buy the new board. The 570 wont fit into my sig rig cause the mobo is too old. I would need a new board before anything, and i would have to get a new CPU as well becuase theres no way my POS AMD will fit into any decent board.

So with the graphics card RMA'd to newegg, i dont have any source of graphics. i would need a board with an on board chipset so i can have video.- then eventualy get a GPU when i have enough money saved up.

Any suggestions?

you can get teh P67X-UD3H as its the top GB board with video out, other than that make sure that your board with Z68 has DVI output.
