which headphones for ~£100

Hello, I am looking for headphones and would be thankful to receive some recomendations.

I will be using them mostly for simultaneous gaming + music (WoW + Winamp).
I listen to RnB and Pop and when I'm raiding music will be playing in the background with Ventrilo turned higher.

The headphones will also be used on different setups - personal PC, laptop, maybe mp3 player, so sound card/amp will not always be available.

So far when reading reviews I kinda started to like Ultrasone and was getting oriented to the DJ1, but for £10 more I can get the Pro 550.

Other headphones in the same price range I looked at are:
Audio Technica Pro 700
Beyerdynamic DJX1
AKG K271 MKII

I hope in the case of headphones when esablished companies market them as "dj" ones, it really means they are better, unlike products marketed as being "gaming" which are usually not a good value/money choice.

So could you say what you think about these headphones and maybe recommend any others I should look at before making the decision?

Thanks in advance,
Tarator

Edit: Just realized that althogh I will be playing games mostly while using the phones, my purpose doesnt really qualify as "gaming use of headphones" so dont laugh at me for that I realized my mistake

I would go with the Pro 550s if you can find them in that price range.

Read this to get a few more ideas: http://www.overclock.net/sound-cards...-products.html

Price is in USD, but you can just look them up and see what the prices are in the UK.

Thanks for reply, I saw your thread and found it quite informative.

I see you've included the Pro 550s two times in the recommended products so so far from the Ultrasones they are the leaders of my choice, although i would like see what other people would suggest

I used the price in pounds because I believe people here would find it easier to orient in the price range based on the models I've listed than it would be for me to constantly convert to USD, but if it causes inconvenience to anyone - i didnt mean to.

You should also look into the Shure DJ's, they get very good reviews over at Head-fi.org
