Issue with launching TRIXX - sometimes it freezes up the PC for a ~30-60s

Thread Starter
Sometimes when I launch sapphires TRIXX OC program, it freezes up the PC for what seems like close to a minute

winamp will sometimes even stop its audio towards the end, firefox will not open till the PC gets it all sorted again

I can move the mouse over the time/date and that gets displayed, never tried to open it though

Is this just related to having AMD catalyst control running in the background?

Same here man, i've stopped using it. Too much of a pain in the árse tbh. its not reliable, plus whenever you change any setting in CCC (eg gaming setting etc) it resets the clocks in trixx to stock again, and you gotta load the OC profile everytime, hopefully they'll sort it in a future version, but for now, its too much of a hassle to use it imo.

What version?

I'm on 3.0.6 and I've never experienced this problem.

Yea, MSI afterburning works, but try it in trixx and my computer reboots.

Well tbf, that could be because your cards are gigabyte, and not sapphire? lol biggrin.gif

@kiwiasian, im using current version, i''ll have to double check the ver. number though. Clocks don't reset for you when you change a setting in CCC? and ofc i don't mean the OD settings lol smile.gif

Will when I need a serious OC, I use MSI:AB for volts and TRIXX for the fan and OC, I haven't use MSIAB lately, and it only seems like a new problem

its v3.0.5

no direct correlation with when I have HWmonitor running (I usually do)

again its only on launching, aside from that, never had any other problems with trixx

Have you bothered updating? 3.0.5 is an old version now, 4.0.1 is out.

Just download and install version 4.01. Result is still the same.
TriXX often cause my PC lock up.
Still got some bugs left maybe...
Just avoid TriXX until it is much more stable.
My Graphic Card overheated once because the Fan Controller in TriXX didn't kick in back then. Temp rise like Hell but the fan did not spin any faster.

Well you have a powercolor card. I wouldn't recommend Trixx with it. Best to use Afterburner for just about any card brand, Trixx is to be specific for Sapphire cards after all.

Trixx is free for download for everyone now??? I could have sworn, last month they asked for your card's serial number in order to access the download.

I've had an issue with Crossfire, Trixx, and clocks that reset itself.

Try v3.0.6. That's the one I'm on and I haven't had any problem like the one you described.
