0% CF scaling - Page 4

Thread Starter
it's not a bottleneck... GPU usage on both cards is at 99%.
Try something besides C2, C2 scaling is not that great to begin with.

Like I mentioned earlier, 3DM Vantage and 11 will tell us right away if CFX isn't scaling correctly, metro 2033 if you have it.

C2 gives me ~85fps CFX, single ~70fps.

Run at stock clocks, memory correction on the cards can kick in without any indications other than bad fps.

Ran 3dmark11.

Without CF = total 5045, graphic score = 5113
With CF = total 7820, graphic score = 9992

Left 4 Dead 2

With CF = 90 FPS avg @4800x900
Without CF = 150 FPS avg @4800x900

Crysis 2

With CF = 30fps @4800x900
Without CF = 50-55FPS @ 4800x900

Crysis

With CF = 20-30fps
Without CF = 40-45fps

It's just when I run games the performance degrades with CF on.. It's so annoying I just can't figure out what the issue is.

Strange. o.O
I do remember having a similar issue but I forgot what it was. I got normal vantage scores but terrible FPS in games. I don't remember whether it was the PSU or the motherboard either.. But your PSU should be fine.

Have you tried reinstalling the drivers? Remove the old ones and shut down and then restart and install the latest (if you haven't tried it) with the latest CAP also.

Try both 11.4a and 11.5

I get 5900 3dm11 score on 1 flashed 6950 , its the 4x slot thats limiting your performance . Theres no other reason if u have the latest drivers , xfire profiles .

theres nothing wrong with ur cards , u get the same fps as me in all those games at 4800x .

Its the 4x slot unfortunatly , get yourself a new mobo that supports atleast 8x/8x .... I guarentee your problems will be fixed .

id get rid of that unlocked dual core u have to , invest in a 2500k or something . You have limited bandwidth using your setup .. not really meant for xfire .

What driver's have you used previously on this build? The older 10.xx drivers would install folders in the "Program Files" folders. They required ATI CAT removal to get rid of them completely. If you've only used 11.xx drivers, then uninstalling from Window "remove programs" will work fine, but you will have AMD/ATI folders directly on your HDD. You can open these folders and see the 11.xx driver folders and CAP folders they you've used before. For me, I delete them completely, but I'm on a Intel PC, so not sure if AMD uses the same folders for their CPU/Chipsets, so keep an eye on that if you do delete them. I also run CCleaner to remove any left over registry files, then re-boot and install the currrent 11.5 drivers and CAP files. Once installed, try sliding the PowerTune control over to +20% and then run some benchmarks again and see what happens.

You sure you're not reversing the results?
Those single card scores look like they could be CFX numbers, especially at eyefin resolutions.

What's your single monitor max res?

I can tell you one problem, that CPU you have is definitely holding back performance. The x4 slot isn't hurting you by much, so we can rule that out.

Try overclocking your NB further. That should help some. But honestly, an AMD setup, even at 4GHz is going to hold back high end GPU's in some situations.

And I agree with Grunion, are you sure that you don't have the results backwards? Your 3DMark run looks like its working fine.

Everything is in the correct order. That's why I am so bugged out about this.. Only thing that shows positive results is 3dmark11 everything else is ass backwards. I just order a 2500k with a p67 board, I sure hope this helps..
