[sweclockers] the new Corsair Hydro H100 and H80 Cpu Coolers - Page 26

Very true, just curious.
Can't wait to see some reviews of the H100. If its reasonably better than the 120mm ones I might get one. I have just enough moniez for it and that 4.4ghz looks so sweet but temps won't allow it ATM.

The H80 will outperform the H70 at the same RPM by about 3-4C on an i7 930 overclocked to 3.8 GHz.

But that's based on the H80s "balanced" RPM mode for the fans. The included fans can spin from 900 RPM to 2700 RPM, and the RPM on balanced is from 1300 at low coolant temperature to 2000 at high coolant temperature, which is about the same as the H70 fans spin.

The "High Performance" mode starts at 1600 RPM and goes to 2700 RPM based on coolant temp, and the Low Noise mode starts at 900 RPM and goes to 1300 RPM.

The H80, being push-pull, does add a bit of noise over the H100 because it's got more turbulence and obstruction for the fan airflow. The H100 has a lot less obstruction so even with the fans on the same RPM, it's a bit quieter.

Plus, you can bump performance by adding the 3rd and 4th fans if your case has room.

The H80 is great because it's more widely compatible with cases, and the performance out of the box with H80 and H100 is fairly similar. But H100 has a bit more headroom.
If I only use fans that are set RPM and are 3-pin can I even connect it to the pump block and use the fan speed button? Or will they just run at full speed?

Same here. I'm done with the mammoth air coolers.

Will you ever sell separate fans?

I love building my own loops but these all in ones are getting better and better. I had an H50 that was in a push pull and it did superb! When more and more articles come out from websites and CPU Mag and MaximumPC that pit custom loops vs these all-in-ones and the AIOs are within just a couple C of a custom loop...well, thats saying something.

Maybe the next upgrade will be that fancy H100 in a P/P in the White Corsair 600T. Mmm

The pump controls any fan with a standard 3pin or 4pin small connector that has a tach output. It'll control both PWM and standard DC fans. It will not work with fans that only have a molex connector.

We will sell extra fans on the webstore.

Both H80 and H100 are fully 2011 compatible.
