[sweclockers] the new Corsair Hydro H100 and H80 Cpu Coolers - Page 30

I just emailed Corsair tech and was told the the hoses on the H100 are in fact 300mm long, aka 11.8" long. This makes me happy since I think I can mount in the roof of my Lian Li.

Too bad about the delay. I really wanted to get my hands on an H100 before July hit.

EDIT: This is also holding me off from getting a 6GB kit of Dominator GT's because I would want to use the airflow fan with my CPU cooler, which I can't do with the NH-D14.

What are the chances of me being able to make the H100 a push/pull configuration and still be able to mount it inside my HAF 932?

That would be the best for me, unless push/pull actually makes no difference. My Archon only dropped by 1C after I added the second fan, so I'm a bit sceptical about push/pull configurations now - still would be sweet though.

I wonder if the 100 will finally pull ahead of the high-end air market. It would have to be competitively priced though.

Push/pull makes a difference, but you'll typically only notice it at very high heat loads on an efficient cooler. For example, at stock speeds, a Core i7 920 only shows about a 2C performance gain with push-pull on an H60. When overclocked to 3.8 GHz, that number goes to about 5C. So the performance jumps significantly.

The H100 is about 25mm thick, and standard 120mm fans are also 25mm thick. So if you measure 75mm from the top of the case you have, you'll see how far down the H100 with push-pull fans will encroach into your chassis.

This setup fits fine in the 800D, but won't work in shorter cases like the 600T or 400R/500R.

I went and measured my case. It seems like 75mm isn't a problem for the HAF 932. I think even 90mm would fit fine too. In terms of length, the H100 being a 240 should fit. The 932 was designed I believe to fit up to 360s as well.

I sure hope this thing lives up to its name. I want to be able to leave my rig at 4.5Ghz stable on decent temps with this thing.

Thanks George

Yeah it should fit the HAF X and 932, after all they are full towers.

Im really excited about the h100. Ive been wanting to go water cooling for a while, but the cost and the thought of maintenance has had me on the fence. If the h100 has good temps, its going to be a huge success and may even grab a few from the water cooling section. Love this a70 i have, lets hope the h100 lives up to corsairs name.

Awesome sauce. Can't wait to run push pull with Gentle Typhoon AP-14s.

Half the time I hate this case for not having a black interior ( when I bought it there was no "advanced") and then I love it when it comes to mounting huge things inside and realize that space is not an issue.
