Microsoft replacing older 360s damaged by new firmware update

Now that's customer service I can get behind, Microsoft just stuck a big one to Sony there.

This isn't the first time that they have demoed excellent customer service. They handled the RROD issue flawlessly, better than what Sony did with PS2's DRE.

Sony UK and US have a policy that if the PS3 is damaged *in any way* they will replace it for free. That's hardly being stuck at by Microsoft.

Sony only has 1 year warranties. Microsoft's warranty is a 3 year.

Sony has been hacked 3 times in the last 25 days, who cares if they replace PS3's, it's not worth having all my personal information and banking information plastered all over the internet.

I've seen many, many, MANY denied PS3 claims because of out of warranty or other reasons they used to slip out. Some of them semi-legit (Can't find receipt being most common) others being retarded (health hazard because it had evidence of smoking around the unit). MS HAS done an exemplary job in serving those with the xbox, much to my surprise. I don't own one, but it's one of the things that should be used as an example to the industry.

and how many of these major flaws have happened to the 360,seems like every year there is some new major problem, they better replace them, this console has been a disaster from the start from a technical standpoint, ms needs to stick to software there hardware devices are disasters

Even if the warranty runs out they will still replace it rolleyes.gif

And I honestly don't care. From what I can see, no-ones personal information has been plastered over the internet. And I really don't care if anyone gets my personal information anyway...what can they do with it? All the credit cards assigned to my account have expired. People will see I live in Cyprus...amazing I post that information everywhere.
Sony have fixed the problem now...but I'm guessing that if you were to give advice to someone you'd tell them not to get a PS3 because of what had happened.

It's 3 years for RROD's, everything else is one year. But well, I guess replacing the consoles that doesn't work with a new firmware updates is pretty obvious, and that free year of Xbox Live... Well it should be free anyway smile.gif

I'm done with the xbox, they are trash. Plus, they don't have any games so it isn't worth having to have my hardware repaired every other day.
