Nvidia 560 Ti vs. ATI 5870

So my question is how would 2 560 Ti's in SLI compare to 2 5870's in Crossfire? I'm looking for performance in games not really worried about benches.

Thanks guys!

560 = 470ish = 5870 depending on the game. 5870's don't scale nearly as well as the 560's so the 560's will be faster, run cooler, and use less energy. From what I've read, the 560's overclock very well, so that should help also

- From a features standpoint, you get CUDA and Phsyx processing which adds a nice little element to the games that support it. They are also better for folding@home if thats something that you do / or would like to get into.

They're going to be really close. Our OCN Graphics Card Rankings (all based on benches and in-game performance, not just opinion) puts the 5870s above the 560s (#38 and 39 on the SLI/Crossfire rankings). At this point, I'd say it comes right down to personal preference.

Well here is the situation...I have a 5870 but I can't seem to find another one in my price range...but I did find someone selling 2 of the same 560 ti's for 360 bucks shipped and what I would do is buy both of those and sell the 5870...think it's worth it?

I should also ask, are you finding you need the extra horsepower right now? The 560 is the newer of the cards but your 5870 should still be plenty for the vast majority of games, especially at your resolution. Personally, I would wait for the next generation of cards and either keep looking for a 5870 or just upgrade to a better single card.

1 5870 should still be enough. It would be cheaper to get a second than sell it and buy 2 GTX 560s.

Yeah, I mean right now it is enough though I do plan on upping my monitors and going bigger...plus I want to have my computer set for a while cause while I am away at school I can't really upgrade nor do I have the money.

Also I have heard of 5870s in crossfire causing more trouble than SLI
