Rat 7 on Steelseries/ice mat issue

hello

i got myself a rat 7 which works perfect. so i got a good, solid and easy to clear mouse mat, the Steelseries experience I-2. its also good they work good together. i just have 1 issue and thats the noise it makes when i move my mouse over the mat. i sounds like someone is grinding something. really anoying and loud. if i put those glides on my rat then it removes the sound but i get an delay when i lift my mouse and puts it back down, sometimes i even stops working for a few secs.
any ideas on how to fix it without buying a new mouse?

Personally I'd change the surface rather than the mouse, I have an original blue Icemat which I stopped using when I got the RAT7. I got the grating noise, its because the mouse has hardish feet I think - I don't think you'll stop that without changing them - Icemats chew through mouse feet. The biggest problem for me though was the slightest bit of moisture (sweat) on the glass and it stopped tracking. There's a RAT club/thread if you want to check what works/doesn't, I have a Steelseries Qck ATM.
