Research says: 870 for me

Thread Starter
Hello!

Here's what my research so far has led me to (VeRy newb here)

No need for onboard gfx
single GPU (OC'd 460) - no intention or budget room for multi-GPU (another reason I purchased Nvidia)
ATX form factor.

All signs are pointing me to a 870A-UD3 (USB3/SATA6GBps)
http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product...82E16813128443

I've looked at direct competition from Asus and the GB model stands out to me.
Any owners/users of this board?
- also keeping my eyes peeled for a Rev 3.1 = AM3+

Yes, I'm looking to boost the #'s of the 955BE and possibly the 8Gb of 1600mhz ram.
The GPU is factory OC'd but I'd try and OC some of that too - nothing extreme, just air cooling for this guy.

You might not get the highest overclock out of that board, but its certainly a good budget choice.

AMD guys have any experience with this? It appears to have all the features I want and is in my price range (single x16 PCI slot cuts the cost IMHO)
I know nothing about ASRock and was hoping for some 1st hand experiences or at least references. Heat sinks look a bit beefier on the NB/SB than the GB870

Or just eat the cost of unwanted Xfire support and onboard GFX and go for a

http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product...82E16813128435

with some heatsink love spread around the board
