Well I appreciate the help in any case. I think that I may just get a new cooler. I wonder if an NH-D14 would fit in the case..

try the intel screws in the h50 box and the original AMD backplate,worked better for me

EDIT: I cannot find the post.. It's in the Official H50/H70 club..

They had pictures of the heatsink not clearing the mosfets/capacitors around the socket, even denting some of them after they tightened it not knowing there was blockage.
impossible for the h50 to hit anything around the socket,maybe the rad hit the board but that is a case issue,not the h50's fault.
